Food and Wine in Georgia

Baking Bread in a Georgian tone (Tandoor oven)

A tandoor (Azerbaijani: Təndir, Turkish: Tandır, Arabic: تنور‎, Punjabi: ਤੰਦੂਰ, Georgian: თონე, Persian: تنور, Hindi: तन्दूर, Urdu: تندور, Bengali: তন্দূর, Armenian: Թոնիր) is a cylindrical clay oven used in cooking and baking. The tandoor is used for cooking in Azerbaijan, India, Turkey, Iran, Armenia, Georgia, Pakistan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, the Balkans, the Middle East, and Central Asia, as well as Burma and Bangladesh.

This is a 30 second video I took of a baker in Tbilisi loading his tandoor oven with bread to be baked.
